Cinema App

When the movie IT came out, I saw its visuals all over the city and in the cinemas. It got me curious about what kind of cinema apps there actually are. After researching Japanese as well as Western cinema apps, I felt a lot of them lacked a certain depth and engagement. IT, like many other movies, has amazing posters and images but, the way the cinema apps used these images didn’t make me feel like I was eager to go pay money and see the movie. So, I decided to create a rough concept where the movie’s visuals would be main. Role UI Designer / UX Designer This was a conceptual design but I find it important to analyze the world around you and see what little details could be changed to improve someone’s experience, as well as help companies attract customers. I created a quick benchmark to compare the similarities and differences between some well-known cinema apps. I designed the UI for iOS and Android. Process Benchmarking -> Create Mood Boards -> Design Wireframes -> Design Mock-ups

Health App

Inspired by apps like MyFitnessPal I decided to create a conceptual Health/Food Diary app concept with a bit of a twist. You can cheer people on with animations when their process isn’t going so well, or like and comment on people’s processes. The main themes for the concept are “encouragement”, “balance” and “lightness”. People tend to either get obsessed with tracking their weight and calories or completely lose motivation. A user interface or concept that feels too demanding and result-driven might push some users into these modes. Therefor lightness and balance are necessary to maintain encouragement and motivation. Earlier mentioned themes have been translated into the app’s user interface design. Role UI & UX Designer Based on the background information above, I challenged myself to create a design and color scheme that would match the themes I defined. I looked up information about existing Health/Food Diary app users and did a quick benchmark based on the successful ones. Process Define Concept & Identity -> Research Product Landing Page Designs -> Create Mood Boards & Color Schemes -> Define Branding and Story -> Design Wireframes -> Design Mock-ups

Restaurant App (JP)

An (anonymous) client for this project at Fenrir Inc. had an existing Michelin Restaurant app. But, it lacked visuals from restaurants and foods which was one of the main reasons the app didn’t attract many users. Michelin Restaurants are often high class but always high in quality, which means the accompanying images of foods and restaurants should communicate this. Role UI & UX Designer I analyzed the client’s problems and user research and defined the requirements with the project manager. Even though this was a proposal design, I created a brief competitor analysis and designed some quick mock-ups for proposal purposes. They loved the proposal designs but Fenrir’s prices didn’t match their budget. Process Problem analysis -> Define Requirements -> Competitor Analysis -> Create User Flow -> Design Wireframes -> Define Branding and Visual Identity -> LP Design Research -> Edit Wireframes -> Design Mock-ups

Recipe App for SmartWatch

For an upcoming project at Fenrir Inc. I decided to practice creating user interface designs for smartwatches. The project would be related to food and restaurants so I came up with a recipe app that would be easy to use while preparing the food. Since it was for a smartwatch, space was limited so the interface had to be clear and easy to understand Role UI Designer / UX Designer I researched the latest smartwatches and smartwatch app designs to brush up my knowledge. I created the user interface design, wireframes, and user flow. Process Research Designs and Requirements -> Create Mood Boards -> Create User Flow -> Design Wireframes -> Design Mock-ups
